Melbourne City Ballet
Amy Radford is an Australian dancer and emerging health professional whose versatility, strength and artistic curiosity have shaped a diverse career. She began dancing at the age of four at Redland Dance under Jodie Ann White and, from 2011 to 2015, trained through The Australian Ballet School’s Interstate Program. During these years she also performed with Ballet Theatre Queensland, dancing several featured and lead roles including a Stepsister in Cinderella and Tinkerbell in Peter Pan, experiences that helped shape her stagecraft and early performance confidence.
At age 11, Amy was offered a scholarship to the Vienna State Opera Ballet School but chose to continue her development in Australia, later training at the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet under Christine Walsh. In 2016 she advanced to the Royal Ballet School’s final auditions and subsequently accepted a place at the Dutch National Ballet Academy, where she trained for the 2016–2017 year and performed with the Dutch National Ballet.
Amy returned to Australia to work with Claudia Dean, deepening both her technique and her passion for dancer strength and conditioning, and began teaching young dancers in Melbourne. She joined Melbourne City Ballet in 2018 and was promoted to Emerging Artist in 2019. Since 2020, Amy has been studying Osteopathy at RMIT, combining her ballet background with a growing interest in health, anatomy and movement. She remains a proud Ballet Theatre Queensland alumna and continues to share her knowledge with the next generation of dancers.
