Join BTQ staff Clare Morehen, Lucas D Lynch and Kym Stokes alongside guest professionals Tama Barry, Olivia Quinn and Sarah Smith for an exciting and informative three-day intensive. Tama Barry
Performance PsychologistMeet Tama Barry (He/Him), a proud member of the rainbow community. Tama is a compassionate and approachable General and Performance psychologist. In a previous chapter of his life, Tama was a professional ballet dancer with Queensland Ballet (Soloist) and Scottish Ballet (Principal), bringing a rich and diverse perspective to his practice. Tama enjoys collaborating with his clients using a blend of therapeutic techniques, including but not limited to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and Schema Therapy.
Tama enjoys working with Adolescents (14+) and adults facing a spectrum of challenges, from mood disorders, anxiety disorders and adjustment disorders to sexuality and gender identity, anger management, and general lifestyle and stress-related issues. Beyond his private practice, Tama also works at the Queensland Academy of Sport as lead psychologist for their triathlon, women’s hockey, and cycling programs.
Outside of his professional endeavours, Tama finds joy in staying active at the gym, savouring the simple pleasures of a good cup of coffee, he also values the importance of relaxation and enjoys learning new things to foster continuous personal and professional development.
Olivia Quinn
APA Physiotherapist and Pilates ClinicianOlivia is a physiotherapist who has a passion for working with dancers and nurturing their well-being and potential. Having immersed herself in a variety of dance styles Olivia understands firsthand the unique demands dance requires. Olivia completed majority of her own training at the School of Alberta Ballet in Canada before deciding to pursue physiotherapy in order to help the next generation of dancers. She utilises her knowledge of dance and Pilates in combination with her physio skills to address specific concerns as well as prevent injury. You can find her at Revive in Ashgrove for all your physio needs.
Sarah Smith
Make-up ArtistSarah Smith is currently living and working as a full-time Freelance Hair and Makeup Artist in Meanjin, Qld. Her work is extremely multifaceted, ranging from Fashion and Beauty Editorial, Music Videos and Promotional Shoots for bands and solo artists, keying large-scale productions for local Theatre Companies, as well as Bridal, Formal and Special Occasion Hair and Makeup. Her long list of clients includes everyone from reality TV stars, ARIA Award-winning Musicians, the who’s who in the Brisbane Fashion Scene and everyone in between!
Brie Jurss
StorytellerBrie is a North Queensland-born storyteller who is driven to make art that moves. After graduating acting school at the University of Southern Queensland, Brie then went on to tour across East Australia with The Grin & Tonic Theatre Troupe for two years and has facilitated for multiple companies including Queensland Theatre, Zig Zag Theatre and more arts organisations across SEQ. Since touring, Brie has worked professionally as an actor, voice artist, workshop facilitator, theatre producer, touring comedy show host and is the Director of her artist-focused company ‘Imperfect Creatives’.
