Ballet Theatre Queensland provides opportunities for young performers of various ages and abilities.

Intermediate and Senior Levels
Learn repertoire from the genres of classical ballet, contemporary dance, musical theatre and flamenco dance.
- Monday to Friday: 9:00-5:00
- Saturday: 9:00-1:30 (TBC) including presentation performance for family and friends
All-inclusive fee: $650.00

Junior and Junior Apprentice Level
Learn repertoire from the genres of classical ballet, contemporary dance, musical theatre and flamenco dance.
- Monday to Friday: 9:00-3:30
- Saturday: 9:00-1:30 (TBC) including presentation performance for family and friends

Lisa Pavane
Ballet Technique and RepertoireBorn in Newcastle NSW, Lisa joined The Australian Ballet School as a student in 1978 and trained under the founding Director of The Australian Ballet School, Dame Margaret Scott AC DBE. In 1980 Lisa toured with the inaugural Dancers’ Company (now known as The Australian Ballet’s National Tour). Lisa joined The Australian Ballet in 1981. She rose swiftly to Soloist in 1983 and Principal Artist in 1986. In 1994 Lisa joined English National Ballet as Senior Principal. As a dancer, Lisa appeared internationally as a guest artist with many ballet companies, including the Boston, Kirov and Birmingham Royal. Lisa retired from the stage in 1999.
In 2007 she joined The Australian Ballet School staff and in 2008 became the first graduate of the School’s Vocational Graduate Certificate in Elite Ballet Instruction. Lisa held a number of leadership positions as a member of the School’s faculty. In 2012 Lisa became Head of Student Training, was awarded a Churchill Fellowship and gained her Graduate Certificate in Professional Education and Training through Deakin University.
Lisa commenced as Director of The Australian Ballet School in 2015 and, after almost 10 years in this significant leadership role, stepped down from the position at the end of June 2024. Lisa is now highly sought after for teaching, coaching and adjudicating.
Camilo Ramos
Ballet Technique and RepertoireBorn in Havana, Camilo trained at the National Ballet School of Cuba. He received several awards during his training. Camilo joined the National Ballet of Cuba in 2008 and was promoted to Principal Dancer in 2011. He moved to Australia and joined Queensland Ballet in 2015.
Camilo has toured extensively throughout Europe, South America, North America, Asia and Australia. He has performed on many of the most important stages around the world such as The Coliseum in London, Kennedy Center in Washington DC, the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, among others. He also danced in numerous Festivals and Galas worldwide. Camilo was invited by Texas Ballet Theatre to perform as a Guest Principal Artist in their production of Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker.
With the above companies Camilo has performed principal roles in most major classical ballets such as Swan Lake, Don Quixote, The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, La Sylphide, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, Coppelia, as well as works by renowned choreographers such as George Balanchine, Kenneth McMillan, Jiri Kylian, Liam Scarlett, Trey McIntyre, Natalie Weir, Greg Horsman and Harold Lander.
After his retirement from stage in 2021 Camilo took the position of Teacher and Coordinator of the Pre Professional Program with the Queensland Ballet Academy.
Justin Anderson
Musical Theatre RepertoireJustin is a seasoned and versatile professional in the world of dance & musical theatre, boasting a career that has spanned over two decades. His professional journey began at the age of 12, when he made his debut in Cameron Mackintosh’s production of “Oliver!.
Training at Melbourne’s Dance Factory as a dance scholarship student, he completed his Diploma. At the age of 17, Justin continued his professional career traveling Australia on the musical “SHOUT!”.
He was an original company member in Disney’s “FROZEN” the musical, portraying the character Oaken during the Australian and Singaporean tours.
Justin’s extensive list of professional stage credits include a diverse array of productions such as the Australasian tour of “Wicked,” “Saturday Night Fever,” “Evita” starring Tina Arena, “Wizard of Oz,” “My Fair Lady” directed by Julie Andrews, Australian tour of “Billy Elliot.”
Notably, he was part of the original and touring cast of “Mary Poppins,” David Atkins’ “Hot Shoe Shuffle,” “We Will Rock You.”, “Little Me,” “High School Musical Live On Stage,” and Jason Coleman’s “Cabaret Cathedral.”
Justin has dance for various artist such as Guy Simpson, Jessica Mauboy, Paulini, Vanessa Amorosi, Delta Goodrem, Tash Sultana, and the list goes on.
Justin choreographed the musical “GODSPELL” at Western Australia’s Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) & was the Resident Choreographer for Matt Ward’s production of “Billy Elliot” on the Gold Coast.
Amelia Waller
Contemporary RepertoireAmelia Waller has returned to Australia after dancing as a soloist with the Leipzig Ballet Company in Germany for nearly 6 years, prior to this she was soloist with the Queensland Ballet Company for 8 years.
During this time she worked with many international classical and contemporary choreographers dancing works by William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin, Meryl Tankard, Mario Schroeder, Nils Christie, Stephan Thoss, Francois Klaus, Uwe Sholz, Mauro Astolfi, Young Soon Hue Simon, Kim Mcarthy and Natalie Weir to name a few. She has also toured extensively throughout the world performing in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Spain, Taiwan, Colombia, Singapore, Japan and Brazil.
Amelia has danced soloist and principal roles in Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Carmen, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Excalibre, Rite of Spring, Carmina Burana, Das Grosse Messe, Chaplin, Nibelungen and The Little Mermaid to name a few.
Highlights include Carmen In Francois Klaus’s production of Carmen, Stella, in A Street Car named desire ( Francois Klaus) and Chaplin, Leipzig Ballet Company, (Mario Schroeder ) for which she was nominated for most outstanding dancer by the Thalia Awards in Czech Republic.
Most recently Amelia has returned to the Queensland Ballet teaching contemporary, improvisation and choreographing for The Queensland Ballet Academy. She also shares her knowledge with the wider community teaching Contemporary and choreographic workshops, choreographing and staging works throughout Brisbane and QLD. She has also been involved in teaching and project management for The Brisbane International Contemporary Dance Prix held annually.
Christine Milostnik
Flamenco RepertoireChristine Milostnik is a dancer and instructor with over 20 years of experience in the art of Flamenco. Born and raised in Sydney Australia with Argentinian Parents, Christine’s passion for Flamenco was ignited at the very young age of 3. Christine has trained under some of the most respected teachers ,honing her skills in traditional flamenco techniques,foot work and expression. Her first flamenco teacher was her very own mother Graciela Yoia.
As a dedicated educator,Christine is committed to sharing the art of flamenco with all levels and backgrounds. Her teaching style is known for its warmth and precision and emphasis on the culture and historical context of flamenco. Whether leading workshop’s,private lessons or group classes Christine inspires her students to connect with the passion and soul of flamenco dance.
