Alison McWhinney
Alison McWhinney is an acclaimed Australian ballet artist and most recently Senior Soloist with Queensland Ballet, following a distinguished international career.
In 2004, she was awarded a prestigious scholarship at the Prix de Lausanne to study at English National Ballet School, which launched her professional journey with English National Ballet, where she rose to First Soloist. Her major accolades include the Genée Silver Medal and English National Ballet’s Emerging Dancer Award.
Renowned for her emotional depth and refined classical artistry, Alison has performed leading roles including Juliet in Romeo & Juliet, Manon, Myrtha and Giselle in Giselle, the Sylph in La Sylphide, and the title roles in Cinderella and The Nutcracker.
After nearly two decades abroad, she returned home to Australia in 2024 to join Queensland Ballet.
