Jayden Grogan
Jayden Grogan is an Australian dancer-choreographer, internationally touring performer, teacher, and creative practice researcher.
Jayden has performed leading roles in major productions including; Opera Australia’s The Ring Cycle (2023) (Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, Siegfried, and Götterdämmerung), The Merry Widow, Billy Elliot – The Musical (2023) starring as Older Billy, and with companies such as Galaxy Entertainment Group Macau, Ballet Theatre of Queensland (BTQ), Queensland Ballet, Ballet International Gala, Opera Queensland, State Opera of South Australia, Cirque Bon Bon, Camerata - Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra, Lisa Wilson Projects, Phluxus2 Dance Collective, Keith Hawley Creative, and Ozfrank Dance among many others. His one-man show Jaz & the Big Red Dance Book premiered at QPAC in 2021. Jayden choreographed Lynch & Paterson’s The Phantom of the Opera (2022) and directed the Australian premiere of The Creatures of Prometheus.
He graduated a Master of Philosophy (Creative Practice) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance Performance) with Distinction from Queensland University of Technology. He has headlined performances at prominent festivals such as Ars Electronica in Austria, Beijing Dance Festival, and Brisbane Festival. Jayden restaged Jacqui Carroll’s Carmina Burana for Queensland Ballet’s 60th Anniversary Gala.
At BTQ, Jayden continues to perform Guest Artist roles in addition to his Rehearsal Director position. As an educator, Jayden’s teaching practice spans a wide range of techniques across various educational settings delivering dance styles that include; Contemporary, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro, Musical Theatre/Broadway, Hip Hop, Latin, Partnering, Pas de Deux, male coaching, and improvisation. He attained teaching certification from Royal Academy of Dance for Ballet and Comdance (CSTD) for Tap, and Modern Jazz.
