For nearly 90 years, Ballet Theatre Queensland (BTQ) has nurtured the state’s most talented young dancers through professional-level performance opportunities. 

In 2026, we take this commitment further with the launch of BTQ Training. Our programs are designed with a holistic approach, in order to best support each individual dancer’s development. Our training covers a broad range of skills and competencies to equip dancers with the versatility, confidence, and resilience needed for professional success.

Guided by a faculty of industry professionals and supported by BTQ’s long-standing legacy, BTQ Training will commence with offering the Advanced Diploma of Professional Dance (Elite Performance) CUA60120.

The program is designed for dancers ready to take that next step, offering daily coaching, performance integration, and mentorship from leading industry professionals. It is an immersive experience where students refine their craft, deepen their artistry, and gain the confidence and professionalism required to thrive in today’s dance world. This is a full-time graduate course, delivered over 6 days for dancers in academic year 12 or above.

Training Focus

• Daily classical and contemporary technique classes
Pointe work, partnering, and repertoire development
Choreography and creative composition
Performance and rehearsal practice
Participation in in-house showings and main-stage productions
Pilates, resistance training, weights, and conditioning
Wellbeing, anatomy, and resilience studies
Professional practice and industry preparation

BTQ will deliver this qualification in partnership with Australian Teachers of Dancing (RTO 31624).
