Ballet Theatre Queensland is proud to officially welcome the inaugural cohort of dancers into BTQ Training, marking an exciting new chapter in the company’s 89-year history.

As Queensland’s premiere youth ballet company since 1937, BTQ has long been recognised for excellence in performance, artistic expression and storytelling. Now, with the opening of our purpose-built training studios in Stafford, Brisbane, that legacy expands into a bold new era of professional dance training in Queensland.

Orientation evening was filled with warmth, anticipation and quiet excitement as inaugural full-time and part-time dancers were welcomed. The evening concluded with a walkthrough of the architecturally designed studios, a meaningful milestone marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both the dancers and the organisation.

At the heart of BTQ Training is a holistic philosophy. We believe dance education must support the whole dancer, technically, artistically and personally. Our programs are grounded in discipline and professionalism, while nurturing individuality, resilience and joy.

Our full-time program offers immersive daily coaching, performance integration and mentorship from experienced industry professionals. The course offers an Advanced Diploma and other vocational education options tailored to each dancer's needs. This pre-professional pathway prepares dancers for the realities of a professional career through rigorous classical and contemporary training, creative collaboration and real-world performance experience.

Alongside this, our part-time after-school Performance Pathway Syllabus provides exceptional ballet and contemporary dance training for school-aged dancers in Brisbane. Designed to complement academic studies, the program builds strong technical foundations while fostering creativity, musicality, confidence and artistic identity.
